ALICE IN CHAINS Performs 'Secret' Acoustic Gig In Seattle
August 27, 2009Travis Hay of Ear Candy reports that ALICE IN CHAINS treated Seattle fans to a special invite-only acoustic performance last night (Wednesday, August 26) at Experience Music Project followed by the debut of their new record, "Black Gives Way To Blue", accompanied by a laser show. About 450 invited friends and radio station contest winners reportedly attended the event, which saw the band performing five songs before guitarist Jerry Cantrell dragged the crowd to the nearby Pacific Science Center where fans were surprised with free beer. The group hung out and schmoozed with fans during a meet-and-greet and later gave them another surprise by playing all of "Black Gives Way To Blue" (on CD, not live) set to a customized laser show.
ALICE IN CHAINS' acoustic setlist was as follows:
01. Brother
02. Got Me Wrong
03. Rooster
04. No Excuses
05. Down In A Hole
If you pre-order ALICE IN CHAINS' new album, "Black Gives Way To Blue", via iTunes, you will receive two exclusive bonus tracks: "Your Decision" (live) and "Black Gives Way To Blue (Elton John Piano Mix)".
ALICE IN CHAINS has released "Check My Brain" as the first official single from "Black Gives Way To Blue". The song made its way to radio stations earlier in the month and is also streaming online.
ALICE IN CHAINS recently tapped U2 and WHITE STRIPES video director Alex Courtes to shoot a clip for "Check My Brain".
"Black Gives Way To Blue" arrives in stores on September 29 and is the first all-new ALICE IN CHAINS album in 14 years.
The disc features the recording debut with the group of singer and guitarist William DuVall. Original frontman Layne Staley died in 2002.
